Nearly £1million Marine Fund Scotland Successes for NLC projects

It great to see such a wide variety of aquaculture and marine companies benefiting from the £14 million awarded in the latest 2024-25 round of the Scottish Government’s Marine Fund Scotland released this week.

It is always rewarding to see our client submissions receive funding towards their innovative projects.

This round we supported two projects receive funding with Landcatch Natural Selection Ltd receive £660,897 towards their Ormsary Site Expansion and Aquagen Scotland receiving £307,980 towards their Recirculation System at Holywood.

Congratulations to both and we look forward to working with you to progress these exciting projects 😊

We were also delighted to see Aberdeenshire Council receive funding towards progressing seaweed cultivation in the region. Back in 2021, Aberdeenshire Council commissioned NLC to undertake a Coastal Industries Diversification Study to determine whether seaweed cultivation was a viable and acceptable proposition for the Northern Aberdeenshire Coast.

We concluded that seaweed cultivation was indeed a viable business opportunity for the area, with a recommendation to establish a small-scale grant funded trial. So to see this progressing is very rewarding and we wish them the best of luck in farming.

As always please get in touch if you have a project you are looking to gain funding for, we have a track record for funding bid successes and we would love to deep dive into your exciting project!
