Aquascot is an employee owned community based business operating from Alness, Ross-shire. Their business is in the processing of salmon and trout primarily for UK retail.
It all starts with an idea
Aquascot are undertaking continuous process improvement works at their processing sites in Alness. Northern Light Consulting (NLC) were engaged by Aquascot (AQS) in March 2023 to project manage the installation of temporary buildings and new primary processing equipment.
Since then we have undertaken further work packages to secure grant funding, and manage procurement and delivery of new freezing and skinning capacity.
We have also delivered a feasibility study, options appraisal and budget costs for potential future development of the business.

Scope of Works
We have supported the Aquascot team with a project management and strategic initiatives including;
Outline design of future projects
Aplications for grant funding for these projects
Co-ordinating the various third-party contractors/suppliers
Continuous monitoring of programme and cost plan
Reporting to Project Steering Group
Manage all aspects of the delivery of physical infrastructure to provide operational space for new processing equipment
Manage the installation of new process equipment, ensuring appropriate handover, training and compliance certification
Developing and implementing requirements for compliance
Conduct options appraisal for future development opportunities and feedback with formal reporting, including studies to review and understand the existing process, including current constraints, potential future needs and subsequently undertake an options appraisal and SWOT analysis to provide a recommendation for a preferred option going forward.
Adopt large infrastructure project and manage through to successful completion
Collaboratively work with client to highlight key areas for improvement and recommend routes to achieve aspirations
